The CROCUS project officially began with a successful kick-off meeting held from 22 to 24 April 2024 at Aalborg University in Denmark.
CROCUS stands for Cultural and Creative Tourism in Rural and Remote Areas: Sustainable Business Models, Cooperation and Policies. The project brings together partners from across Europe to address the socio-economic challenges faced by rural and remote areas and to explore how cultural and creative tourism can become a driver of regeneration.
During the meeting, the consortium defined the main strategic directions of the project, shared knowledge and experience, and stressed the importance of active stakeholder involvement.
What the project aims to do
CROCUS is designed to support more sustainable and inclusive tourism development through innovative business models, cross-border cooperation and policy-oriented work. It focuses on practical solutions that can help rural territories strengthen their identity, improve local opportunities and build long-term resilience.
