Developed together with Federpesca, the Pescatour project was created to support fishing communities facing structural pressures such as depleted fish stocks, climate change and pollution.
The challenge: these pressures have reduced employment and put the historical and cultural identity of the fishing profession at risk.
The strategy: Pescatour promotes integration between fishing and tourism, encouraging activities managed directly by fishers and designed to enhance local production, local knowledge and visitor engagement.
Why it matters: the project points toward an integrated economic model in which tourism becomes a diversification tool capable of strengthening income, communities and territorial identity.
